- Day 1
Everyone packs their own sled and prepares their team before departure. The tour heads towards Nysetrene / Flekkvatnet with a lunch break along the way. After arriving at the overnight spot, the dogs are cared for and fed, and their straw beds are prepared for the night. When the dogs have settled into the straw, it is time to go into the cabin for dinner. A large old fireplace is lit, creating a traditional mountain farm atmosphere while sitting around the fire before finding the bedroom and crawling into the bunks for a good night’s sleep.
- Day 2:
The day starts with a morning chat before going out to care for and feed the dogs.
After the dogs have been taken care of, breakfast is served at the long table in the cabin. This is where the plan for departure and the day’s stage is made.
Once the gear is packed and the cabin tidied, the dogs are harnessed and the day’s trip begins, heading towards Heimdalen / Oskampen.
In the afternoon a campsite is chosen, and a tent camp is set up for the night.
The dogs are always cared for and fed first, before dinner is enjoyed either outside or in the tent, depending on the weather. With some luck, there may be both a starry sky and northern lights before it is time to crawl into the sleeping bag. During the night, the howling of the dogs towards the moon will likely be heard.
- Day 3:
The day begins with caring for the dogs and giving them breakfast before having breakfast and planning the return trip. The starting point from day
